Monalisa is considered as the best painting of the world. One cannot shift away his vision from this painting once it comes to the visual horizon. It is the painting of Leonardo da vinci achieved during the early decades of Sixteenth Century. With a strange and curious lifestyle and success in every step of life as a leader, Leonardo has spent long period of his life in painting this icon. The painting was identified fifty years after his demise. Many facts about Leo is known, yet his social and mental dimensions are not clear. Presently he is rated as a Superhuman as it is evidenced now to feel that he could foresee centuries ahead.
But it is a fact that he has painted the feature of a beautiful Florentine lady of character. Conceived as a gift of the husband to the wife, Leo has concentrated in expanding the totality of this painting as a human attraction for long 16 years though with some interruptions. But during his life, he has not parted with this painting! Leonardo’s Monalisa had not been the gift of the husband, but with the mystic laugh it has influenced one fourth of human population today. This novel has been based on the dusty and smoky smile of Monalisa. Present scenario of women empowerment has forced the author to re-assess the meaningful smile from a new angle.
Studied from the corner of Utkal, Odisha State of India, we presume Monalisa’s smile in the west witnessed inflow of heavy black clouds in Odisha’s horizons and from this seat of architectural excellence tears were coming out from the stone statues. It is rated as a special type of novel, to be reviewed by the reader whether it is a tour novel, historical or psychological novel or otherwise. But it has all the elements to keep the reader enjoy the new way of presentation.
